This week’s Global Design Project challenge #GDP519 – is an Autumn Love Challenge and I couldn’t resist but take part.

Since our wedding anniversary falls in early October, this theme felt perfectly fitting for the occasion. Naturally, I wanted to create a project that reflected both warmth and romance while embracing those beautiful autumn tones.
Olive green was a strong colour that ran throughout our wedding day, so a Mossy Meadow card base was a must. In addition, I added texture and depth using the Perfectly Plaid 3D Embossing Folder for my matting layer. This subtle detail helped give the card a wonderful masculine vibe … ideal for hubby.

Next, I used the Label Me Grateful Dies to cut leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstock, which I layered behind a cluster of leaves and acorns. The acorns were die cut from Old Olive cardstock, while their stems were coloured with dark Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends. For contrast, the oak leaves were die cut from Basic Beige cardstock and softly blended with Pecan Pie to add warmth.

Personalise your sentiment
To personalise my design even further, I used the Mini Alphabet Dies to create a custom sentiment from Gold Foil cardstock. By backing the letters with Foam Adhesive sheeting, I was able to raise them slightly so they stood proudly above the leaf cluster … adding just the right amount of shine and depth.

For the focal element, I stamped a pumpkin from the Choose Happy stamp set using Pumpkin Pie ink on Basic White cardstock. After colouring it with Stampin’ Blends, I added twirls of Old Olive cardstock that peeked out from the pumpkin’s stalk. This pumpkin cleverly represents the “O” in the word Love, tying the design together beautifully.
To complete the sentiment, I heat embossed the word Anniversary in white onto Early Espresso cardstock. Finally, I finished the card with a scattering of Regal Foiled Embellishments to bring that last touch of autumn warmth.
Needless to say, hubby loved the card … and it was the perfect way to mark our 16th Wedding Anniversary.
