I’m Mikaela, the founder of The Crafty oINK Pen, a former Air Hostess who would previously seek out Craft Stores around the world to satisfy her love of everything crafty.
I moved from Brighton to Cambridgeshire when I married my wonderful husband back in 2009 and tracked down a local Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I joined one of her groups and made some new local crafting friends who I loved to see each month. My passion for the products grew and when I became pregnant and decided to hang up my wings and become a Demonstrator.
My Business evolved as I continued to share my love of crafting and grow my friendship circle.
Why The Crafty oINK Pen?
I often get asked about my business name and how it came about. Living in a Barn style house overlooking fields on the land of a former Pig Farm had me thinking … with the word INK appearing in the word oINK, it only seemed right and fitting. The name stuck like mud the moment I said it out loud.
Where I am at now
I host monthly Craft Classes both in the Village of Spaldwick where my Craft Studio is and at Dunelm Mill, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. I also host All Day events and Overnight Retreats in and around the area and at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa, Northamptonshire.
My business has grown over the past 9+years, as have my group of ladies who attend my events and my Team, who operate throughout the country. I’ve made a lot of new friends and enjoy how my business fits in and around our family commitments. I have seen the world and enjoyed it tremendously, but the satisfaction I get from seeing my ladies leave a class, stress-free having had some fun, is rewarding in itself. I have found great pleasure and relaxation from Crafting and love to share this best-kept secret.
