Trimming the Tree for an untraditional festive season. My November classes have seen us being creative with the fabulous Trimming the Tree stamp set from the Annual Catalogue. Over looked by all the excitement in the Seasonal Mini Catalogue, I really enjoyed creating with this set.
We can often focus mainly on the focal point of a stamp set and overlook some of the other images.

Lining up the baubles on a block and repeatedly stamping in three different colours, brought about a fun background. A swish of ribbon and a simple sentiment panel and we had ourselves a quick and simple card. A design that can so easily be reproduced in many a colour way.
To bring a certain freshness to this card, we layered Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay, which worked well.

The background was created using an Artistic Mask, Ink and a blending brush and layered with a Wonderful Snowflake. These colours just sang to me with pure joy.

Carrying these colours over to this final card, we set to making a tri-fold card with an aperture of the tree for some fun. Stamping on the front panel and die cutting, created not only the aperture but the tree for adhering behind.

The smaller images were perfect for decorating the inside of the card. The clever use of the stitched oval sentiment panel as a rug opened the eyes of others in how to use something for a different purpose.
A bright vivid class with a real pop of colour, my ladies really enjoyed creating with this set.

I hope I’ve inspired you to look at creating with non traditional colours. Who says that a tree can’t be stamped in Coastal Cabana?
