Special occasions like Christmas are often times when we dress up the table with a decorative table setting. I created this coordinating Table Setting in preparation for my Mum joining our Covid Bubble this Christmas. Sadly, since the airing of my Facebook Live, new imposed Tier systems have put a stop to us being together. Although we both live in the lowest of tier systems, we live far apart and travel restrictions imply it safer to stay home.
Last Thursday’s Facebook Live had me create this little set. A Napkin wrap with name, a mini cracker and a sweet treat slider box.
I purposely chose products mainly from the Annual catalogue and projects that could be adapted for whatever products you have.
The papers come from Designer Series Paper pack, Poinsettia Place. Choosing a neutral woodgrain means it will go well with most napkin colours.
Build a Wreath
The Wreath Builder Dies were used to layer up a Vellum and Soft Seafoam wreath. A delicate backdrop for a simple white church. Touches of Gold Foil helped add some glimmer. The Make a Difference Stamp set was used to personalise each Napkin ring to double as a place setting.
Continuing with the Poinsettia Place paper, I made a little cracker. This cracker was made from a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper and would be big enough to house a small treat, chocolate or suchlike.
Embellishing with the same colours, I pulled in the beautifully soft white ribbon from Flowers for Every Season. The Stitched Stars to the bottom of each gold thread allowed for movement.
Measurements for the Cracker
Using a 6″ x 6″ Square of Designer Series Paper
Score at: 1 3/8″, 2 3/4″, 4 1/8″ and 5 1/2″
Burnish your score lines. Using the skinny stip, adhere into a squared tube. Flattening on each scoreline, I used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch notches on each scoreline around each end. Fill and embellish as you choose.
Finally, I had one larger box of Marzipan Fruits that I wanted to repackage giving everyone their own little box of Yum. Adding the ribbon around the insert allows the ribbon to act as a pull, sliding out the contents. The sentiment, very simple, came from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.
A simple little set that will sadly now not be complete with the absence of my Mum. I hope you’ll be able to celebrate safely with loved ones this Christmas. Go easy and let’s stay safe for a happier and brighter New Year.
