Stampin’ Fancy Friday – Playful Alphabet

It’s a Time Saver Challenge this month with the Stampin’ Fancy Friday Team, as we share our inspiration. 

The festivities often build up and become crazy busy, so this month our challenge is all about Time Saving. They say that every second count, well it really does.

I share a few tips on creating some last-minute cards that still pack a punch with detail. These cards help you use up supplies, gather your pieces together for a time-saving process.

Cut a quantity of the same sized pieces of cardstock for use, makes cutting quicker. Using up leftover scraps is always a great feeling, especially when you make something look as fancy as this.

Cutting a white matting layer suitable for both the front of a card and the insert is a real time-saving tip. Making the Crumb Cake matting layer the same size and matting a white piece over top, easier still. Once I have a pile of matting layers cut, I’ll spend the evening embossing through my Cut & Emboss machine, whilst watching a movie. We, paper crafters, are often left with narrow strips of Designer Series Paper and White cardstock from other projects. These are great for adding a banner, a border or a backing to an aperture sentiment, as shown here to make something fancy.

The red striped Heart Warming Hugs Designer Series Paper strip, was cut to the width of the card base before having the word NOEL die cut. The Playful Alphabet Dies give a lovely bold sentiment that makes it easy to use both positive and negative pieces. Two cards from one pass through the Cut & Emboss machine.

Punches offer quick and easy image pieces, like this Pine Tree, which I again punched from left-over Shaded Spruce cardstock.

Quick Assembly

With all the elements cut, scored, embossed and punched, the assembly line would begin before the final embellishments added. Bold, clean cards with a two for one approach when making, is a real time saving, leaving you to enjoy the festivities just a little bit more.
