Global Design Project #GDP535 – Baby Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project challenge #GDP535 is a Baby Themed Challenge.

 

I make use of the bears from the Valentine Kisses Bundle for my baby themed card. Starting with a Crumb Cake card base. Wanting a neutral card suitable for any gender, I opted to use the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper. With a less fussy paper for the top, I created a matting layer to reflect a room, complete with Basic Beige skirting board.

Using basic white and the little stall dies, I cut two solid panels and one detailed curved heart shaped headboard. Layering these up with Dimensionals, I created a little baby’s crib.

A picture rail of scalloped trim was added towards to the top of the wall and some bunting and a heart to the end of the crib.

Mumma bear was stamped using Black Memento onto Crumb Cake cardstock, along with a baby bear. To add contrast, I stamped the bears noses and belly onto Basic Beige cardstock, fussy cut and added them to the full bears. Blending the edges with Crumb Cake Ink with a Blending Brush, helps simulate curvature to the bears, which I then added using Dimensional foam pads.

Crumb Cake ink was used to stamp and blend the ends of the little wooden sign that was stamped with a simple sentiment. A final Linen Thread bow completed my card.
