Artisan Design Team – More Pretty Petals

The Artisan Design Team have been crafting with the new Pretty Petals Bundle from the Online Exclusives.

Loving a challenge, I asked the rest of the Artisan Design Team to pick a colour for me to focus my creation on. Knowing that I’m not a huge lover of purple tones, purple was chosen. They’re a mean lot!

No, seriously, I was up for the challenge, as the choice at least gave me a starting point.

Fresh Freesia was therefore chosen as my cardbase, which I set to adding a white die cut postage label. This came from the Perennial Postage Dies and had an inlay of Watercolour Paper cut to fit.

The larger leaf image was used for this card and firstly inked up using Soft Sea Foam before smoothly with a Water Painter. Whilst wet, I dropped a little Granny Apple Green to the base of each leaf and allowed to dry.

Using Stampin’ Write Markers

It’s not often that I’ve used my Stampin’ Write Markers of late, so I pulled out Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath. Using the brush end of the pen, I added ink to each of the flowers. The smaller flowers, I chose to be the softer pink. A gentle spritz of water over the image and I stamped this to line up with the leaves. Taking a water painter to the petals, I smoothed over before adding drops of darker ink. First Petunia Pop and then Berry Burst for the pink flowers. The purple flowers stepped up through Highland Heather and finished with Blackberry Bliss.

By adding darker drops of ink, gave beautiful gradient to my petals and added interest.

Tapping the barrel of my Stampin’ Write Marker onto the side of my bone folder, helped flick ink splatters. These added texture to my card front.

Linen thread was wrapped around the mat layer and tied in a bow with a white heat embossed sentiment sat over the top. Using Granny Apple Green cardstock allowed me to coordinate with my leaves and had the sentiment stand out.

I hope I’ve done you purple and lilac lovers proud by using this colour way and that I’m demonstrating the beauty of this bundle.
