Today we go Around the World on Wednesday with a Colour Challenge. Traditional or Coastal, which is your favourite?

If you’ve hopped over from my talented friend Ximena, then you’ll have already been spoilt to some fabulous inspiration.
This month we are sharing inspiration with a Colour Challenge in mind … but are you Coastal Colours or Traditional? Struggling to decide which way I wanted to go, I spun another twist on the challenge by choosing a non Traditional bundle to use with a Christmas theme.

The Seaside Wishes Bundle was where I started for my Coastal inspired card. Using the stone images and Basic Beige ink, I stamped the images around in a circle. This formed the backdrop of what would become a coastal wreath.
With a Blending Brush, I added a wash of Boho Blue to my Basic White cardstock that I also stamped some splattered speckles on. A series of sea grasses were die cut from this piece of cardstock and positioned around to form a wreath. A scattering of colourful starfish were stamped and die cut before positioning around my wreath.

A simple White Heat Embossed sentiment upon Crumb Cake cardstock, was positioned over a Linen Thread Bow. Finally some Flat Pearls were added for that gentle spot of glimmer.
A subtle coastal Christmas card designed especially for my friends in the South Pacific.
Traditional
Changing things up a little, I decided to bring colours closer to a Traditional theme with darker Red, Gold and Greens. I set myself a challenge to use the same bundle, bringing in a die from the Beauty of the Deep Dies.
Die cutting some coal from Shaded Spruce cardstock, I used this to form the base for my half wreath. This sat upon a Lost Lagoon Timber 3D Embossed layer that I blended Pretty Peacock ink to. Scattered around my wreath, I added die cut Pecan Pie sprigs and Red and Gold seaside elements.

A strong Christmas sentiment was added with a final embellishment of Gold Thread and scattered sequins.
An unusual combination for a Traditional theme but one that I actually enjoyed creating and sharing with you today.

Which is the way you’d lean towards … Coastal or Traditional?
