The 2024 Artisan Design Team love Stampin’ Up!’s colours! We have been inspired by pages 132 and 133 in the Annual Catalog and the Colour Wheel, and are sharing a bit of colorful inspiration with you.
I have been given my most favourite colour of the colour wheel to play with and that is Pretty Peacock. Such a rich warming colour, it blends beautifully with so many other rich and regal colours.
Triadic Colours
Triadic Colours sit in an even triangle around the Colour Wheel, so starting with my elected colour, I set to choosing. Pumpkin Pie and Blackberry Bliss sat beautifully around the wheel and blended so well together, that I couldn’t resist this rich set of autumnal colours.
A Pretty Peacock matting layer, embossed with the Zinnia 3D Embossing Folder sat upon a cardbase of the same colour. Before adhering this down, I blended the edges with yet more Pretty Peacock ink to help add mood.
From here, I decided to stick to just the smaller flowers from the Zinnia Die set and cut them out of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The stems and leaves for these flowers were cut from Blackberry Bliss and larger leaves in-filled with more Pretty Peacock. Blending the flowers, tone on tone, with a blending brush, helped add further richness and depth of colour.
Eager to keep the mood, I heat embossed my sentiment from the Happiest Day Stamp Set, in white on Pretty Peacock. This was then die cut using a Nested Essentials Die.
A gentle splattering of Whisper White ink was tapped all over the card front before adding a ribbon loop in Blackberry Bliss, neatly behind the sentiment panel.
