The Let’s Get Hopping Team are sharing inspiration for a Birthday Bash this month.
The Rustic Crate stamp set from the new Mini Catalogue doesn’t just have to be for Harvest. I show you here how you can use some of the images within for a simple and delicate Birthday card.
Choosing a Colour Palette, I pulled coordinating Designer Series Paper to add a matting later across a Basic White card base. Layered upon this, was a coordinating piece of White Center Specialty Paper. This paper is fabulous for creating the perfect torn edge effects for the centre is white and is revealed beautifully when torn. Overlooked in the Annual Catalogue, this comes in a pack of several colours.
A narrower matting layer of Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper would be my focal layer. Here I stamped the same image from the Rustic Crate Stamp Set across the panel with Versamark. This was then generously scattered with White Embossing Powder before heat setting. Using the lid of my Ink Pads as a paint palette, I set to watercolouring these flowers. Layering a slightly darker colour upon a lighter one helped give contrast and interest. Going over the lines give s relaxed feel to these images and allows for the detail of the images to show through.
A single strand of Baker’s Twine with Bow was added and a delicate sentiment from the Sentimental Park stamp set added.
For such a delicate card, the Iridescent Pearls helped finish this card beautifully.
I hope you have enjoyed my share today and that you’ll take a look at the White Center Paper that might have escaped your notice. Now be sure to head over to my Instagram account to follow our Instahop shared by the rest of the Team.
