Today, the Stampin’ Creative Team are bringing you some Masculine Makes.
Welcome to this month’s Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop where we are honouring the men in our lives with some masculine makes.
I had fun being creative with the Shark Frenzy set from the current Mini Catalogue. This was the first time I’d inked this set up and boy did it make me smile … and sing!
With a long overdue and fast approaching visit with my Father-in-law, I had him in mind when I made this card. Our son, like many 10 year olds, has spent a lot of time singing the infamous Shark song, so I knew he’d find this agreeable.
This card actually started with the sea background that I created using Blends Pens on Vellum. Randomly scribbling, I then added some Rubbing Alcohol in drips to create this marbled effect for the sea. I could have darkened it up but I liked the focal point, which then had me create the front panel in Misty Moonlight. Self adhesive sheets made die cutting and adhering the little bubbles to this panel, easy. I then cut a large circular aperture for the vellum sheet to sit behind.
The fun began when I had to decide upon how to dress up the Shark. Moustache, hat, cane and spectacles, the choices make for such variety. My Father-in-law regularly wears a hat and uses a cane, so this seemed most fitting. The addition of Garden Green foliage swayed me towards the green card base for this project.
I think the little fish make for a fabulous embellishment without the need for anything else.
Oh how I had fun doo doo doo doo doo doo …. yes I did doo doo doo doo doo doo. Now let’s see what masculine makes the others have to share this month. Enjoy!
