I’d be in Maui, Hawaii right now if it wasn’t for this Pandemic, on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip that I’d earned. A timeless tropical destination that I’d have loved to have visited.
Thursday night Stampin’ Up! hosted a zoom call for those achievers who sadly couldn’t attend but were still left at home. I met Demonstrators from around the globe all saddened to not be on the beaches of Maui. Some I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in person on previous Incentive Trips that I’ve attended and others the pleasure of meeting for the first time.
We had a few giggles and generally tried to ease the sadness that this situation has caused. A sadness but an understanding that we had done the right thing by staying home.
We were asked to join the call with a card created with a beach/tropical theme and this was what I created to share.
Having been such a dull miserable day here, I wanted something bright and punchy … a Tropical Fruit Punch!
Starting with a Bermuda Bay card base, I adhered die cut leaves all over to create a faux embossed layer. I added a white centrepiece with a vellum layer over the top to allow my friend to really stand out.
Die cut from Daffodil Delight and sponged with Mango Melody, I added the textural Pineapple, along with a Melon Mambo Pink Flower. All super bright colours that just cheered me up on this miserable day. This card was a cheery little Aloha to all of my Stampin’ Up! family, no matter where they were in the world.
More than anything, I hope this finds them all in good health so that we can again one day, be back together again.
