Last week’s Facebook Live had me be creative with the Love you Always Suite of products. The cards made were a spin off of the card shared within my recent All Star Tutorial Blog Hop. One card using Very Versailles, had me want to step things up further, which I share here for you today.
This was the card that I wanted to age up a little more. Switching up the colours a little and changing the sentiment I set to work.
Today’s version
Switching up the base card to Night of Navy, I added a top layer of Crumb Cake. Using Crumb Cake ink, I was able to blend the edges, adding a little Soft Suede for depth. A mix of first and second generation stamping from the Very Versailles set, added to that vintage feel.
Wanting an aged look, I used a dauber to add Versamark to the image before adding Heat and Stick. Once tacky, I added the Gold Gilding leaf that gave a scattered aged appearance of this image in the background. I added a layer of Gold foil to pull this all together and used the blade of my scissors to age up the edge of the cardstock.
A few splatters of water gave that weathered feel in places, seen here more on one card than the other. You’ll also notice the fabric feel to these cards, created by the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
A scattering of the same flowers used within my live, from the Love you always Suite and my focal point came alive. A calming card to let a friend know that I was thinking of them. I hope you like this version of my original.
