Global Design Project #GDP542 – Sketch Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project challenge #GDP542 is a Sketch Challenge. Having just enjoyed my breakfast of berries, yoghurt and granola, I knew the layout lent itself to a row of rich juicy berries.

Rich in colour themselves, I chose to use a dark moody backdrop of Secret Sea. Taking the image of Blueberries from the Filled with Sweetness Stamp Set, I randomly stamped this, tone on tone, across the top third of my matting layer.

From the Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper, I die cut four juicy blueberries. The Two-tone cardstock to accompany this DSP pack helped give perfect contrast for my Raspberries. To add further depth, I blended a little Melon Mambo to one side of these berries. The berry tops were die cut from Two-tone Granny Apple Green and blended with a little Old Olive.

Left over scraps from my Celebratory Sips DSP pack, proved to be the perfect colour variation for my single blackberry.

Layering up my berries and blending a little Secret Sea to one side of each blueberry, I started to adhere them in place.

A gentle splattering of white ink added that dusting of icing sugar for added sweetness.

My sentiment came from Banner Greetings and was heat embossed white onto a Cloud Cover panel. This helped soften up the dark moody palette. A few Cloud Cover embellishments to coordinate and my card was complete.
