This week’s Global Design Project challenge #GDP541 is a Colour Challenge. With three fabulous colours to use, I knew immediately what I wanted to create.
The new Made with Sweetness Dies offered the perfect citrus fruit segment die that would work beautifully with two of the colours. Timid Tiger and Daffodil Delight would make for two juicy slices of Oranges and Lemons.
Die cutting the layering segments from Watercolour Paper, allowed me to add an uneven wash of each colour. Liquid glue tapped over the back of the detailed top layer, helped me complete each segment. I chose to add a few small segments by cutting one larger piece down into three.
Once layered, I rolled the curved edge along the surface of the relevant ink pad to add a darker rind.
These citrus fruit slices would soon be added to a Cloud Cover card base and matting layer. To the matting layer, I stamped and heat embossed some leaves from the Fragrant Layers, white. This helped tie in nicely with the white of the fruit segments and the white flowers I later scattered across my card.
A gentle splattering of white ink and a sentiment stamped with Black Memento onto white cardstock was added. Finally some low profile sparkle dots in yellow, were added to each flower centre to pull everything together nicely.

This is my favorite card of the month so far! It made me look again at the made with sweetness dies because i need the citrus slice for my creative juice brand, and the detail of the embossed leaves really makes it come alive. beautiful card indeed!
