Global Design Project #GDP524 – CASE Cordula De Challenge

This week’s Global Design Project challenge #GDP524 – is a CASE Cordula De Challenge.

 

With this beautiful card, designed by Cordula De as inspiration, I decided to use her layout and pull from her colour palette.

With a desire to richen the palette up a little, I focused more so on the turquoise tones with a pop of red.

Pool Party formed my cardbase and die cut matting layer. The Textured Notes Dies created such beautiful detail around the edge of the rectangle. This mat layer sat upon a panel of Pool Party Designer Series Paper. The North Pole Delivery DSP offered the perfect polka dot paper that worked well with this layout and palette.

With my base set out, I worked next on my sentiment panel. Using the same rectangle die pack, I die cut a smaller white rectangular panel ready for my sentiment. My sentiment, from the Jolly Holly Stamp Set, was stamped in Real Red to coordinate with my flowers to follow.

Adhering my sentiment panel in place with Dimensionals, I proceeded to die cut and adhere my foliage. A mix of Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow were used for my leaves. These two colours brought contrast and depth. By blending Pretty Peacock to the lighter green, helped bridge the contrast a little.

Crumb Cake and Pecan Pie layered helped create three realistic Pine Cones. Layering these up, I proceed to blend some Pecan Pie down one side to add shadow.

Real Red cardstock flowers that were first stamped using the same colour ink, gave a punch of contrast. Layering two flowers up, helped bring fullness. Cherry Cobbler Berries were added to the flower centres.

Diluting white ink with water, I’d flick the ink across my card front to simulate a light dusting of snow. This helped finish off my CASE of Cordula De.
