The Delicate Pines Bundle formed a big part of my recent Overnight Retreat event. With a mix of cards, gift tags, gifts and 3D Projects, there was a plentiful mix of projects. Incidentally, this was just one of the cards the ladies made using this bundle.
A wonderful rich and warm colour palette, this card exudes elegance and charm.
Building my snowflake
Embossing the tone on tone matting layer and Ink Blending the edges, gave depth to this project. On the final quarter of my Pretty Peacock, I set to stamping and heat embossing the Delicate Pines Snowflakes, white. Stamping separately, the largest snowflake, the mid sized and three mini snowflakes. The centre spokes of the two larger snowflakes were removed when die cutting – first thing to remember are, these centre dies can be mistaken for flowers.
Layering the two larger snowflakes, sees the centre come to life and the fullness appear. Adhere these together and set aside.

Building our foliage
Die cutting various leaves and pines from Granny Apple Green, Pretty Peacock and Mossy Meadow, prepared me for building my foliage cluster.
For depth, two colours of layered cardstocked helped form the pinecones. Blending them each with Early Espresso gave further depth and shading.

The foliage cluster backed my focal snowflake, which was adhered in place with the mini ones, around the edges. Shimmer and lift and that final regal touch, occassional Gold Foil die cut Pine leaves were added.

A Cherry Cobbler sentiment panel helped bring contrast and warmth. This panel was sat centrally but saw the heat embossed sentiment off set.
A final scattering of embellishments completed my card.
