Stamping Sunday – Perfect Pairings

Welcome to this month’s Stamping Sunday hop where our inspiration comes from Perfect Pairings.

Looking at the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper that’s screamingly feminine I wanted to create something masculine. Not all sheets of this beautiful pack of paper offer florals and the piece I chose proves this.

Having been inspired by a card designed by The Coastal Crafter, Emma Goddard, I created this double easel card.

The base for this card was created using the new Secret Sea In-color and trimmed with Basic White. Teaming this beautiful paper with the sailboat from Sunrise Sailing, I proceeded to die cut two sailboats from Basic Beige cardstock. Pecan Pie Blends Pens were the perfect way to colour the mast and body of the boats.

A set of Basic Gray birds were die cut and added to my card front.

Open the Easel card and another smaller easel card was placed on the inside. This not only acted as a stopper but offered a second space for a smaller set of boats.

A coordinating sheet of DSP from this pack was used to decorate the internal base of this card. A white Heat Embossed sentiment from The Right Words Stamp Set was used as a stopper for the smaller easel.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating this card and love the overall masculine finish from an otherwise feminine pack of DSP.
