Creation Station – Black and White with a Pop of Colour

Welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop. This month we create in Black and white with a Pop of Colour.

Loving Black and White photos as I do, had me thinking of traditional Polaroid photos. This shape and idea would team beautifully with the Lifelong Friends Stamp Set.

Stamping the images onto squares of Basic White cardstock, I chose to colour them using Stampin’ Blends Pens. The background of each was coloured using a Black Watercolour pencil, this helped to give contrast to the smoother blended images coloured with Blends.

Creating little polaroid frames using the Stylish Shape Dies, I stamped my sentiments to the bottom using Black Memento.

I used the same ink on my Sketched Plaid Background stamp that I used on my matting layer. Hard to see, I wish in hindsight that I’d heat embossed this black. This would have given a glossy plaid finish, which would have shown up better.

Across the matting layer, I taped a length of Black & Vanilla Gingham Ribbon, ading a double bow to the end. Black Baker’s Twine was the pefect way of securing this to my card base.

My pop of colour came from Melon Mambo flowers. The Country Flowers Die set offered the perfect size flowers, which I added Peach Pie Resin Dots to.

A fun card that I hope you like and a novel way of creating with Black and White and a Pop of colour.
