Artisan Design Team – Season of Green and Gold Suite

The Artisan Design Team share their inspiration using the Season of Green and Gold Suite.

What a lucky girl I am to have been given this beautiful suite to create with. Not only my favourite colour, Green, but also my favourite season, Christmas. I honestly couldn’t have been any more delighted to receive this stunning suite of Online Exclusive products.

Starting with a Mossy Meadow cardbase, I cut a layer of the Season of Green Designer Series Paper (DSP) to provide a subtle matting layer.

Techniques Galore

Emboss Resist – Stamping an image from the Golden Greenery Stamp Set in Versamark Ink, I heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder. Blending ink around the edges of this layer with both Old Olive and Mossy Meadow, allowed me to achieve an Emboss Resist Technique. This means that the Embossed images were free from ink and still shining brightly.

Splatting water across this layer, helped bleach out some colour and age up the over all appearance.

Watercolouring – Die cutting one of the leaf shapes from the Golden Greenery Dies, from Watercolour paper, allowed me to add diluted Old Olive ink.

Embossing Paste Snow – Tapping Shimmery Embossing Paste to the end of the Die cut pine sprigs, gave the appearance of gentle snowfall.

Blending ink over the remaining die cut leaves, helped bring a variation of tone to the leaves.

With contrast needed, I decided to add a Real Red banner cut from the Greetings of the Season Dies. Upon this I heat embossed Gold my chosen sentiment. This fabulous sentiment set will allow you to use either the word Happy or Merry dependant upon which you prefer.

Finally a scattering of embellishments was added and the Pearl Adhesive Backed Berries take on the colours they surround. A beautiful gentle golden tone could be seen here, which I loved.
