Welcome to the Let’s Get Hopping #13 Blog Hop, where this month we are showcasing unusual shaped cards. We often recreate standard shaped/sized cards for ease and value, but this month we share something different. For me, I really am sharing a Stylish Christmas Card.
Firstly, if you have joined me from Nina’s blog, then I’m sure you’ll have already enjoyed the inspiration she has given. You’ll want to continue hopping around after having seen what I have to share. The link to the next hop can be found at the bottom of this post.
For me, I thought about all sorts of different shapes, but came back to this circular card made using the Circle Stitched Framelits – my favourites! I didn’t want the card to simply be circular, but to have protruding elements from the base circle. This card measures approximately 3″ x 4″ and could very easily have a hand made envelope making from a coordinating piece of 6″ square paper.
Poinsettia’s are not my most favourite of flowers, but for some reason, I have been drawn to this beautiful flower in this Stylish Christmas set. The bottom two petals help stabilise the card, which would otherwise fall over. There are no framelits for this set, but it really isn’t that difficult to fussy cut and is well worth the effort.
I love the contrast of the black sentiment panel across the otherwise less bold colours. I actually love how this little card has worked out and think it will look quite striking on a mantlepiece.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed my share with you today and that you’ll now hop on over to see what Tracy has in store for you. Enjoy the rest of the hop.
