With One Stamp At a Time this month, we are Blending things together and I share a couple of ways of doing this.
With a Sweet Farewell soon to come of some favourite retiring products, had me think of the stamp set of the same name. I took the Sweet Farewell stamp set and got to play.
My first card had me think of my husband’s love of photography. I randomly stamped the image in Black Memento Ink across a white matting layer before colouring with our Alcohol Blends Pens.
Taking a strip of Basic White cardstock and Blends Pens, I blended Pool Party and Bermuda Bay together. The word ‘Smile’ was Die cut using the Playful Alphabet Dies and added to a vellum panel.
The Ombré effect is a beautiful blending technique. Randomly stamping images all over a Pool Party matting layer with Versamark and heat embossing white allowed for the Emboss Resist Technique. Masking the image with a Post It Note before adding ink, helps keep the images clear.
Starting tonally with Pool Party Ink, I worked in a circular motion across the cardstock, stopping just short of the end. Building up the colours I repeated using Coastal Cabana and then Bermuda Bay ink. Work until you achieve the density of colour that you desire. The Stampin’ Chalk Marker helped me to colour in the paper planes.
Blends Pens will help bring vibrancy of colour to a focal point like the suitcase.
Blending on Vellum
Ripping Vellum cardstock, I coloured each strip with a different Blends Pen. Pool Party Light, through Dark and onto Bermuda Bay. Overlapping these onto white cardstock and die cutting gave this great layered sea effect with perfect curved sides.
A simple white Die Cut BON was added before the extension of this sentiment stamped to complete Bon Voyage. The sailboat was stamped and coloured again with Blends before the panel was mounted onto an Embossed panel.
Whether it be beautiful colouring, blending with a brush or clever effects with paper, Blending can be achieved in so many ways.
Now for a sweet farewell to this fabulous set and to all who have kindly hopped over today. Be sure to hop around the rest of the team for more Blending inspiration.
