The All Star Tutorial Design Team have been playing with the Perennial Lavender Suite for you this month.
This blog hop is to share further inspiration using this amazing suite of products. These projects are NOT the projects you will find in the Video Class Tutorial Bundle itself but additional inspiration.
It’s another new suite and another month of creations from the All Star Tutorial Team and this month it’s all about Lavender.
The Perennial Lavender Suite is a stunning suite of products with two fabulous bundles to get playing with. For my blog hop share today, I have focused mainly on the Painted Lavender Stamp Set.
Starting with a matting layer of Highland Heather, I started to blend inks around the edges using a Blending Brush. First I used Highland Heather, then Gorgeous Grape before adding some Orchid Oasis to the very edges. Images from the Notes of Nature Stamp Set were then randomly stamped over the matting layer using Gorgeous Grape. Some White Craft Ink was then splattered across this layer and allowed to dry.
Meanwhile on a sheet of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Lavender heads and stems. The stems were stamped using Shaded Spruce and the heads with Highland Heather. To give greater dimension and interest, I used a Sponge Dauber to add two additional colours to the Lavender heads, Gorgeous Grape and Berry Burst.
Creating further Dimension
To add a further layer to make these flower heads seem even more 3D, I used the larger lavender image to randomly stamp over an area of white cardstock. I used the same three colours and die cut using the skinny double stem die. A Stampin’ Write Marker in Shaded Spruce helped me to add the stem throughout this layer. Mini Dimensionals were used to help elevate this layer and give real dimension.
With the matting layer now dry, I decided to carefully crumple the edges before adhering to my card base with Dimensionals.
My Lavender stems were added, some flat and some raised and a Linen Thread bow added to the stems. My sentiment came from the Perennial Postage Bundle and die cut with a die from the same bundle.
A scattering of Purple Fine shimmer Gems was added for that final finishing touch.
Although I’m not a massive lover of shades of purple/lilac, I absolutely love the depth of colour achieved. I hope that I’ve inspired you with this card and that you’ll not shy away from strong bold colours. My tutorial for this month is much softer colours and offers a much loved technique of mine with you.
