Last week my Artisan Design Team Project using Bee My Valentine was published by Stampin’ Up!
A super cute suite of products to play with, I had a lot of fun. This set lent itself to a fresh, zesty appearance with primary colours. Splitting my background into three panels, allowed it to be there without appearing so solid. The Countryside Corners Dies were used to cut these three panels, which I blended with ink to form sky and grass.
The use of the Rock and Roll technique enabled me to achieve depth of colour to the Bees. They were initially inked with Daffodil Delight and rolled onto Crushed Curry to richen up the sides. I believe this helped give the illusion of curvature and true rich colour.
Vellum wings were added and coloured on the reverse with an alcohol Blends Pen.
The background was created using several matting layers, the first being a layer of Vellum. The next layer was cut from Basic White cardstock using the Perennial Postage Dies. A further matting layer of the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper freshened up the backdrop for my three blended panels.
