The Reverse-masked background technique was a recent Artisan Design Team Tip I shared. Using the Quiet Meadow bundle, my focus was to create a fabulous background.
Die cutting a shape from scrap paper, I placed this over a matting layer I’d later add to my cardbase. Blending through this aperture with Ink and a blending brush, gave a great background to start with.
Stepping the background up further, I randomly stamped a written image over the aperture. Removing the scrap paper would reveal a fabulous reverse-masked panel, which can be achieved with many a shape.
Die cutting leaves and flowers from Watercolour Paper, I set to adding colour using a Water painter and ink.
The foliage was added in a cluster with a Heat Embossed sentiment panel and detailed edging added for texture.
I hope you’ll consider giving this technique a go.
