Christmas Classics bring warm mulled wine and Markets, so I got creative with Sweet Citrus to bring just that.
My 30 Day Christmas Card Making challenge card for Day 12 ‘Far to Merry’, was inspired by Mulled Wine. Warm and Merry, we wander the Christmas markets, so I wanted something rich in colour, with frosty foliage but all the elements of mulled wine.
Starting with a matting layer of Fresh Freesia, I set to work blending ink around the edges. First using Fresh Freesia, then Moody Mauve before finishing with Blackberry Bliss. Mildly diluted Whisper White craft ink was then carefully flicked all over this layer to give the illusion of distant snow.
Die cutting Pine Sprigs from Garden Green with the Noel Dies, allowed me to add Shimmery White Embossing paste for texture to form my backdrop.
Using Watercolour Paper for my Sweet Citrus Orange slices helped bring some texture whilst allowing me to add water to gently dilute the ink. The stamped image was then paired up with the Hybrid Embossing folder and die to both cut and emboss these images.
A scrap of Pecan Pie cardstock was embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder before rolling into a Cinnamon stick. This was wrapped with Linen Thread before adhering to my card.
Layering up my images, I set to creating my sentiment panel.
My sentiment was heat embossed white on Lost Lagoon before die cutting with the Something Fancy Dies. A simple Linen bow and a few Iridescent Rhinestones and my card was complete.
A wonderful pairing of products to give a rich moody feel to this card, which I hope you like.
A fun challenge hosted by Martin Stone which I’ve finally picked up to join in.
