A Contemporary Joy of Christmas

Do you like contemporary cards? Joy of Christmas is a wonderful suite within the Mini Catalogue offering both Contemporary and Traditional images.

The Joy of Noel is one of the bundles within this suite that I used to create this card. The Crafty Carrot Co have invited me to be Guest Designer this month, making use of the Joy of Noel Bundle. I designed this card as a sneak peek of my style but will be sharing another card when it comes to my presentation.

Wanting to stamp the word across the card rather than in a square, I found myself repeatedly stamping across the entire matting layer. Not satisfied with this, I repeated the entire process with second generation stamping whilst off setting the letters to create a shadow.

I loved the effect that this double stamping created. I feared at first that it looked messy but held at a distance and I could see the fabulous background that had been created.

A faux bow of Black & Very Vanilla Gingham Ribbon was stapled in place upon the matting layer. This would be covered by a white banner upon which my focal point would sit.

Upon such a bold background, I set a white banner to anchor some stamped and coloured festive flourishes.  A white sentiment was Heat Embossed on Black cardstock and pulled everything together.

A gentle scattering of Red Rhinestones gave a subtle sparkle. A bold and vibrant card with both a contemporary and traditional twist.
