Around the World on Wednesday sketch challenge of to Bow or knot to Bow.
The moment I saw this I knew I had to replace the angular shapes with a softer floral shape. Use a Bow or not though?
Using the wonderful Abundant Beauty Masks and the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and some Inks, I set to work.
Starting with my favourite Pretty Peacock card base, I took a matting layer of the same colour. Using the checked Decorative Mask and Pretty Peacock ink, I added some checked detail to the righthand side of my matting layer.
A strip of Designer Series Paper in Crushed Curry gave a vibrant panel to sit my flowers upon.
Upon basic white cardstock I positioned the main flower mask from the Abundant Beauty Masks and began blending ink in three main colours. One in Pumpkin Pie, one in Crushed Curry and one in Sweet Sorbet. Each had additional blending of another colour to help give depth. The centres of each flower were coloured using Crushed Curry and Pecan Pie for that double layer of interest.
Positioning the flowers in place of the square images in the sketch, I added one corner of leaves to act as the fourth square. A simple white Heat Embossed sentiment sat across the bottom flower and anchored the card.
A simple scattering of Iridescent Rhinestones helped work beautifully with all of the colours within this card. A vibrant pop of colour to help brighten anyones day.
I hope you like my share today and I hope you’ll now head over to see what inspiration Tina Zinck-MacDonald has in store for us.
Thank you for hopping by today.
