Inspiration is all around us and having had my Birthday last month and received an beautiful abundance of cards, it was right before me. A stunning card by my fellow Artisan Karen Hadler using the Sunflowers Dies had me want to CASE it. Picking up the Sea Turtle Stamp Set, I set to work.
Mimicking the basic layout of Karen’s card, I knew my focal image needed to be big, so the large Sea Turtle was perfect for this.
Using a Crumb Cake Designer Series Paper in the background I adhered this to my cardbase to simulate sand. Upon this, I stamped a matting layer using Pool Party ink and the bubbles image from within the Sea Turtle stamp set. The reverse side of this image, gives a great solid image also. Some sea grasses were stamped using Old Olive and the entire panel muted with a layer of Vellum.
Using Shaded Spruce, I stamped the large Sea Turtle twice onto Lost Lagoon cardstock and cut out with paper snips. Tone on tone stamping was used with Old Olive for the smaller Turtle. Positioned to represent the Sunflowers that Karen had used, really pulled this layout together.
A simple sentiment, bow and embellishments and my card was complete. If you’d like to see how this card came together, you can watch a short video of it HERE. You will see Karen’s card in all it’s glory there too.
