Creation Station – Ombre Challenge

Welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop, where this month we are sharing everything Ombré.

If you’ve hopped over from the amazingly talented Elizabeth Price, then I’m sure you’ll have seen some fabulous inspiration already.

I love an Ombré and really looked forward to this challenge. My focus for my project turned to the Snow Crystal Stamp. Stamping this centrally to a matting layer with Versamark Ink on Balmy Blue Cardstock, I heat embossed white.

The colours I used to blend my Ombré were Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy. Blending in a circular motion around the edges of my matting layer, It was important to buff the white snowflake. Taking water and Whisper White Ink, I splattered both across the front of my matting layer.

A white heat embossed sentiment on black cardstock was fussy cut. Beneath this sentiment panel was a flash of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper with a black baker’s twine bow added. A generous scattering of sequins and Rhinestones completed this card.

Ombré variations

Wanting to switch up colours, I decided to create another card ombréd simply from bottom to top. Stamping the same Snow Crystal towards the top of a Fresh Freesia matting layer and heat embossing white, I set to adding ink. Starting in the middle, I added Fresh Freesia first before adding Highland Heather beneath this and Gorgeous Grape to the very bottom.

Water and Whisper White ink was again splattered across the entire matting layer giving a fabulous snow blizzard appearance.

Two vibrant cards with a wonderful Ombré of tone on tone colour and a pop of clashing colour for interest.
