Today we’re going Around the World on Wednesday as we Never Ever Grow Up. Feeling like a kid in a Candy Store is a saying that’s often shared. Looking at a Candy Store or for me an Italian Gelato Store has me feeling like a kid in a Candy Store.
This month’s hop has us reflect on our childhood or something that makes you never ever want to grow up. Gazing into the shop window of an Ice Cream Parlour or Gelato store has me feeling like a kid in a candy store. The bright colours, the variety of flavours the endless possibilities of combinations and toppings, it’s a wonderfully creative space … and it’s delicious too.
Using Designer Series Paper
Turning to the Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper had me thinking this way when I saw the Ice Cream Parlour.
Starting with a matting layer of Designer Series Paper and a muted street scene, I dappled it further with a layer of Vellum. Fussy cutting the Ice Cream Parlour with paper snips, I raised this on Dimensionals and added a single pot plant to sit by the entrance door.
The cobbled pattern in this Designer Series Paper pack was perfect for a pavement but now to gaze in like a kid. The little scooting bunny from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper pack when snipped off of his scooter was perfect. This bunny looked like he was holding onto a railing, gazing in and dreaming of which flavour to enjoy first. Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate or for me, anything nutty or coffee flavoured. A simple heat embossed sentiment and twine bow and my card was complete.
I’ll never ever grow up, as I don’t ever want to lose that feeling when gazing at the ice creams on offer and I hope you won’t either.
A simple little share for me but one that I hope has inspired you to take a look at your Designer Series Paper to make a quick and simple card up.
