Team Birthday Challenge with Circle Sayings

Our latest Team Challenge is all about Birthdays and with male cards being the most difficult, I set to work on this.

I’d wanted to team up the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper with the Circle Sayings bundle since I received it. The beautiful ombre paper screamed ‘Beach vibe’ to me.

Starting with a DL Card base in Pretty Peacock, I cut a layer of the Earthen Elegance DSP to adhere on top. Before doing so, I ripped three layers at the bottom to simulate crested waves in the sea, that would coordinate with my stamped image to come.

The wave and sun image from Circles Sayings was to be my focal point. Stamped twice, once in Pretty Peacock and again in Crushed Curry, I set to punching and die cutting. The Crushed Curry image was punched out using a 2 3/8″ Circle punch and coloured using Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight Blends Pens. The waves of the other stamped image were coloured using Pretty Peacock before using a stitched Stylish Shape circular die to cut it out. Following the line of the waves, I used paper snips to cut along this line and elevated it with Dimensionals.

Both layers were then adhered to a Die Cut Lost Lagoon Stitched Circular layer. Our new Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker offered the perfect bullet end nib to draw over the birds in flight.

A simple sentiment was stamped in Pretty Peacock before die cutting with a banner shape from Stylish Shapes. A few simple embellishments and a trim of ribbon and my card was complete.

A simple yet effective little card, I really loved the colours and style of this and I hope you do too.
