This past month we were creating with the wonderful Beautiful Balloons Bundle. A fabulously generic bundle that’s suitable for so many occasions.
Wanting to turn up the dial on colour, I picked a colour palette that was gender neutral and oh so cheerful.
Our first card was quite simply Stamps, Ink and Paper and used both first and second generation stamping.
Generation Stamping
First Generation Stamping is when you simply ink up the image and directly stamp to paper. Second Generation Stamping is when you ink up the image, stamp off onto scrap paper before using the remaining ink to stamp. This dilutes the strength of colour giving the illusion of using a different colour. Using this technique allowed us to use three key colours to generate six stamped colours in total.
With the focus being on the Beautiful Balloons, we stamped our sentiment right across them. It would have been very tempting to have stamped the sentiment in the white space instead.
Shaker Card
With a celebration comes a fun shaker card and here, we stepped up a simple banner shape. Blending some ink to the top of the banner and die cutting the aperture to the bottom, we set to stamping our sentiment and confetti.
Some fringe detailing added further fun to this card layout and sequins set behind a window sheet added more. The Gold Celebrations Specialty Designer Series Paper is a patterned window sheet. This offers gold on one side and silver on the reverse. Using the silver, we added silver loose sequins as our shaker confetti.
Our final card was a Zig Zag Fold. A simple fold that brings greater width when sat upon your sideboard. This fold lent itself to stretching out the streamers and having a follow on sentiment to the front of the card.
We used the three beautiful balloons die and layered up colours, blending and stamping with confetti as we went. Blending the top edge added some atmosphere.
A fun trio of cards that we made both in class and during a Virtual Online Class.
If you’d like to take part in one of my monthly classes, then keep abreast of my Calendar of Events. I aim to host one Virtual Class every month, other than August, when I take a month off.
My next online class, is a big one … it’s my Stamp-a-Stack class, where we make 12 cards in a day via Zoom. Video Classes are also available for this and can be found again through my Calendar of Events.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my share today and that you’ll consider adding these Beautiful Balloons to your stash.
