Today we’re going Around the World on Wednesday with a Sketch Challenge and a Christmas Card from me. When do you start? Is it too early or am I simply getting ahead?
I love a good sketch challenge and seeing how others interpret the sketch. It’s a good place to get the inspiration flowing and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Team around the World on Wednesday have in store for us.
The new Stamped with Love Angel Policy stamp set had been sat on my desk from designing last night’s class. The moment I saw this set, I had this card in mind, so was delighted to see this sketch layout. Who would think that I’d be making my first Christmas card of the year in May though? I couldn’t resist it, as I couldn’t un-see, what my mind could.
Taking the Christmas Pinecone Dies, I die cut a single piece of foliage and Pinecones and snipped into three pieces. The back layer was cut in Shaded Spruce and the front in Garden Green … two fabulous Christmas greens. Mimicking the vertical panel to the left of the sketch, I adhered two pieces of the foliage down and one to sit just beneath the Post Box.
Using Adhesive Sheets, I set to die cutting my Pinecones. Early Espresso and the new Pecan Pie were layered with some adhered flat and others on Dimensionals.
Using a layer of Misty Moonlight, I sponged some Night of Navy Ink around the edges, leaving the centre. This was gently splattered with both water and Basic White Ink. Once dry, it was adhered to the cardbase with Dimensionals and the left edge covered with a strip of Timber Embossed Crumb Cake.
The Post Box, from Stamped with Love, came to life with a regal feel once heat embossed Gold. The Post Box opening was coloured black and a fussy cut white envelope added. A simple white on black heat embossed sentiment, from Ringed with Nature, was added and completed my card.
My first Christmas card of the year and my earliest made Christmas card ever. How early do you start? Have you overlooked this fabulous new Stamp Set on page 117?
Next up Around the World on Wednesday is my dear friend Annette. I wonder if she has created a Christmas card? I expect not … Enjoy!
Thank you for hopping by today …. Enjoy the rest of the hop and all of the inspiration throughout.
