Speedy Recovery Class

Speedy Recovery was the theme for last week’s Dunelm Class and boy was it appropriate. Sadly we had three of our regular ladies who had to pull out at short notice due to ill health, so I wish them all a Speedy Recovery.

This time of year brings no end of illnesses, so to be prepared with some Get Well Soon cards, seemed only right and fitting.

Loving the simplicity of the images within this set and the versatility, we created three relatively quick cards. Using Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper cut into three panels, we added a sentiment to a circular panel. Using the Paper Piecing technique, we stamped onto patterned paper to give some pattern to the vase before fussy cutting.

In the background we used the Stitchery Stamp Set to add some simple detail, which you see again in our other cards.

Using the paper piecing technique again, we stamped the cup onto some patterned paper before fussy cutting. Adding detail with blends pens allowed us to fill the cup with a hot warming drink.

Adding a smudge of So Saffron Ink to the scalloped die cut panel, gave a warm glow behind the spoon head. Stamping the spoon first onto the scalloped panel and then onto cardstock, allowed for some layered interest.

Covering half the card base with Designer Series Paper and adding a stamped edge using the Stitchery Set gave for a nice backdrop.

Scalloped Edging

The scalloped edging came from a die within the Penned Flowers Die set but could be created using the edge of the Scalloped Contour Dies.

Blends Pens were used for colouring in the flowers and the Stitchery set shown more. A dainty little card that set left sentiment free, so could be used for many an occasion.

A sweet little set that could be created using no end of patterned paper choices and colours.
