Today we’re going Around the World on Wednesday to share some Festive Paperscapes and I share a fun slider card.
A warm welcome to our blog hop today and if you’ve joined me from the wonderful Aurélie, then I’m sure you’ll have already been treated to some fab inspiration.
I decided to get creative with the Carolling Mice for my Paperscapes themed card. I could envisage a street scene of carolling mice beneath a lamppost to move to make way for a solo singer.
Stamping my images using Memento Black Ink onto Balmy Blue Cardstock, I proceeded to colour using Watercolour Pencils.
With two layers, I first coloured the cluster of mice on a scrap of cardstock before fussy cutting. My single mouse was stamped and masked on the matting layer I had previously sponged the edges of. Masking the mouse, allowed me to add a Lamp post behind him.
Splattering Whisper White ink, I was able to simulate the effect of snow.
A cut to the layers, allowed for a slider mechanism to work, activated by the pulling of the red ribbon. This moved the cluster of mice to reveal the loan singer stood behind.
The sentiments came from the new Framed & Festive (#160888) stamp set. that I split into two sections. The front was heat embossed white onto Real Red for a pop of colour and Real Red stamped onto white for the inside.
A fun slider card that I hope you like. Now make sure you head around the word and take a look at the next project in line from Annette Ball.
Thank you for hopping by today …. Enjoy the rest of the hop and all of the inspiration throughout.
