Were you around to enjoy my Artistically Inked Facebook Live this week?
I demonstrated just how my Commonwealth of Colour card was made, but in a different colour palette.
Needing a special card for my Sister-in-law’s up coming 60th Birthday, I decided to recreate this card in her favourite colour. Linda doesn’t just like Yellow, she absolutely loves it, so the more I could use, the better.
Starting with a So Saffron Matting layer, I added a darker tone of yellow ink to the outside edges using a Blending Brush. The Stamparatus helps with layering ink up on these amazing flowers from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set. Initially inking up with Daffodil Delight and stamping, I then returned to add Mango Melody Ink with a Blending Brush. Repeatedly doing this, allowed me to build the colour to my lining.
I repeated this process using Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie. Using the Stamparatus enabled the image to remain lined up, allowing me the chance to repeatedly layer up the colours before die cutting each flower. Granny Apple Green leaves worked so well with these punchy colours.
I heat embossed this sentiment from the Hello Harvest Stamp Set Gold twice and fussy cut the second to layer it up for depth. A few champagne rhinestones and a cardbase of Mango Melody and this card was complete.

Blue Flower Posy Card
Eager to see how these flowers would look in shades of Blue, I decided to set to work using Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. I favoured this to the Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay flower. Placing them all together and the combination worked. I used what Granny Apple Green leaves I had left over from my first card.
The stems were stamped using Black Memento from the Jar of Flowers stamp set and coloured using Blends Alcohol Pens. This layer was carefully wrapped with Crinkle White Ribbon and a small sentiment tag from the Cup of Tea set added.
The base of this card started with a matting layer of Pool Party and blended with Pool Party and Bermuda Bay.

I really enjoyed creating these two cards and using colours I often wouldn’t. It really does show how this card could be recreated in pretty much any colour way.
