Today I bring to you a Commonwealth of Colour in tribute to our late Queen Elizabeth II.
Flowers have been awash everywhere up and down the country here in the UK, as people pay their respects. With this in mind, my card had to include flowers. Our Distinktive Stamps offer such detail that I inked up my flowers with a base colour and added further colour to the centres using a Blending Brush. Picking out the three colours in the bottom left corner, I went with Fresh Freesia, Blushing Bride and Polished Pink.
Blending a shade darker onto my Fresh Freesia matting layer, helped create a moody feel. The lilac toned flowers had a touch of Highland Heather added to the centres and the Polished Pink, Rich Razzleberry.
The Queen would always wish everyone the best day and offer the most incredible smile that this sentiment seemed most fitting. To help create a rich, regal looking banner, I heat embossed white on Blushing Bride and sponged the ends with the same colour ink.
Check out my post and the inspiration of my dear friends over on Instagram Account. You can join in the fun by using #commonwealthofcolour over on Instagram when you post your projects and share a few of your favourites to your stories.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this explosion of colour today. Thanks for stopping by.
