Around the World on Wednesday are sharing inspiration from their favourite place in the world. The theme is ‘It’s a wonderful day in the neighbourhood’ but your inspiration can come from anywhere in the world.
With the recent passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, I decided to dedicate my post to her.

A warm welcome if you’ve hopped on over from my dear friend Aurélie‘s blog.
The late Queen Elizabeth II had an infinite love for the Balmoral Estate in Scotland that she’d visit every summer. The Queen loved nature, animals and the countryside, so I dedicate my recent class project to her Balmoral neighbourhood.

Creating this Project
This project revolves around the Eden Dies that I used to create the base wreath.
Layered ripped cardstock simulated an autumnal sunset for a backdrop to the Deer taken from the Grove Dies. As if looking through a tunnel of nature I surrounded the foreground with natures elements. The Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies helped create the elements of nature seen here.

Tree Rings blended with dark ink to roughen them up and a scattering of Toadstools. A touch of warm copper brought in with some sprigs of Copper Foil from the Harvest Dies.

Actual wood elements were added for texture and a swish of ribbon in Old Olive to bring that final splash of late summer greenery.
A wreath completely different to all others within my series but one that so clearly represents nature. I’d like to think that Her Majesty would have liked this for all the reasons she loved Balmoral.
This may not be of my neighbourhood but we do live with nature all around us too.

Next up in the hop is the fabulous Hop leader, Angie Mckenzie who I just know will have something quite beautiful to share.
Thank you for hopping by today …. Enjoy the rest of the hop and all of the inspiration throughout.

I’ve never been to that area but I’ve seen many programmes about it. I can see exactly why she’d have loved it there. Surrounding herself in nature and beauty. She was one incredible woman xx

All my affection and thoughts are with you my sweet Mikaela! As a French woman – with our past – the situation does not affect me as much but I imagine that for you, it must be a loss and a moment of great sadness. And your creation is beautiful, very moving.
Thank you so much Aurélie. It’s a very surreal time right now. Thank you for your kind words x
