This weekend I enjoyed being inspired by Cindy at The Crafty Carrot Co using this ripped sunset idea. Cindy shared a fabulous card using this series of colours that I just had to play with for this incredible sunset background.
Gently ripping strips of coloured cardstock you then stick them down onto a square of cardstock ready to die cut. Taking a circle die, I ran it through the die cutting machine a good few times to cut through the many layers to create my sunset.
CASing Cindy’s card, I switched up the colour background from white to Night of Navy. I felt that the black of the caravan Die looks too much of a contrast on white. The Palm Dies make the perfect palm tree silhouette when die cut in Black.
The Caravan shape from the Lots of Trees Dies, available as a free offering in Sale-a-Bration was the great pairing here. A scrap of Vellum works so well to mute the view through the windows. Thinking of spending the day in this caravan to watch the sun go down drew me towards this sentiment. This sentiment came from the stamp set, This Birthday Piggy.
I really enjoyed recreating this card and adding a twist of my own. The colours used within the sunset are incredible together and I so wanted to work with them myself.
Hoping you’ve enjoyed my sharing today and hoping you’ll give The Crafty Carrot Co a go.
