Welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop, where this month we share the technique of Embossing.

If you’ve hopped over from the fabulous Vicki Boucher, then you’ll already be excited by her inspiration.
Texture is something I love to see and create on my projects and for me, Embossing ticks all of these boxes. Dry Embossing with Embossing Folders, Heat Embossing for that glossy sentiment, there are so many options.
Loving embossing as I do, I used several Embossing techniques on this card starting with a simply stamped and Heat Embossed background. Ink was blended over the top of the Heat Embossed Coastal Cabana matting layer. This technique is known as Emboss Resist.
Emboss Resist
If you apply ink over a pre Heat Embossed image, the image will resist the ink, known as Emboss Resist. I blended Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay as an ombre effect for an interesting matting layer.

Hybrid Embossing Folders
In recent years Stampin’ Up! have introduced our new Hybrid Embossing Folders that not only Dry Emboss but die cut the image also. The Merriest Frame Hybrid Embossing Folder was used here with Shimmery White cardstock. This gave a beautifully milky soft layer that looked gently frosty.

Heat Embossing
Probably my most favourite stamping technique of them all and one I’ll never become bored of. Here I stamped my sentiment in Versamark Ink onto Bermuda Bay cardstock. This super sticky ink attracts the White Heat Embossing Powder that I applied and heat set for that glossy finish. Whilst applying heat is when the magic happens and the glossy finish revealed. It’s a wonderful technique.

Clustered around this die cut sentiment panel, I stamped and die cut the Poinsettia Flowers and Holly Leaves. Stamping onto coloured cardstock produced a richer coloured flower and one that blended better with my ribbon choice. Stamping my flowers and leaves onto coloured cardstock, gave richness to the colours. Calypso Coral onto Petal Pink and Granny Apple Green onto Soft Sea Foam.

I hope you have enjoyed my sharing of my favourite technique and that you like the colour palette I’ve chosen.
Do ensure you hop on over to see what Kathy Kartak has to offer today and that you’ll get to see yet more Embossing inspiration.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of the hop.

Oh please forgive me Barbara, your message sadly went to the Spam folder for some reason, so I’m only seeing it now. Usually the hop links get ironed out within a few hours of us going live and everyone around the globe is up and able to make adjustments. I’m sorry you came to a stop when you were hopping. I do hope you’ve had time to head back, as it was certainly running smoothly later that day when I hopped to see what the others had shared. Some wonderful inspiration there xx
