Around the World on Wednesday – Never Ever Grow Up

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday hop, where the Team Never Ever Grow Up. Yes, this month our theme is everything childlike and not wanting to grow up.

The Free Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set, Hippest Hippos formed the basis of my card today. The cute images feel so playful and the images I’ve added, remind me of childhood Birthday celebrations.

Stamping these images onto Basic White cardstock I proceeded to colour them with the Stampin’ Up!  Watercolor Pencils. A Water Painter or Blending Pen would smooth out the pencil colouring but they equally work well dry as I show here.

Sticking to shades of Grey I pulled in a pop of colour here and there and with my background. Here I’ve teamed up Coastal Cabana with Pale Papaya for a fresh and cheerful colour palette.

The Party Puffins Stamp Set helped provide the Party Hat, Cake and candles I coloured in the same way. Two sentiments from the Party Puffins Stamp Set were heat embossed white onto Smoky Slate cardstock and toned well with the colour of the Hippos.

The Fine Sparkle Gems come in colours that coordinate beautifully with my chosen colour palette. I hope you like this fun and cheerful card.
