These cards were shared during a recent Facebook Live, giving inspiration using the Happy Forest Friends Suite.
Having completed my In Person Happy Forest Friends Stamp-a-Stack the weekend before, I wanted to show yet more inspiration. I decided to create three cards using the stamp set and not the papers.
For my first card, I wanted to show how you could create a card using just small images. Often it’s the small images within a stamp set that can be over looked that can help create a great background.
Using Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow on Crumb Cake, I randomly stamped all over my card front. The layering ovals punch was perfect for a quick sentiment panel. My sentiments for these cards came from the Lovely You Stamp Set, which offers this beautiful font.
My second card was created using a circular mask and a Blending Brush. I first stamped the grass and fox before masking over them to protect them. This then allowed me to add Balmy Blue ink with a blending brush with a circular mask to form the sky.
A very simple image needed a simple sentiment and this seemed perfectly fitting.
My final card showed how to step things up further, die cutting an aperture and embossing the front panel. The circular panel from the middle was sponged with Balmy Blue to create the sky and stuck flat to the cardbase. The Timber 3D Embossing Folder seemed the perfect choice for embossing. I liked not seeing the entire Bear but having him pop out. The shrubs were stamped with Mossy Meadow in first and second generation stamping. The image used here came from the Lovely You sentiment set and worked really well.
Since we were stepping things up, I heat embossed white my sentiment onto Mossy Meadow cardstock and fussy cut. Sitting this over a loop of Sahara Sand Ribbon allowed it to stand out further. The embellishment of a Brushed Metallic Butterfly was sat upon the bear’s paw, which seemed a sweet little touch.
A rustic looking trio of cards but a sweet little set nonetheless and no Designer Series Paper in sight. You can create these cards long after you’ve used up the DSP from this suite to create cards like this.
I hope you have enjoyed my share today. If you’d like to see me create these cards, you can still see my Facebook Live on Replay HERE.
