Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday hop, where the Team are on the CASE. This month we have had our names drawn out of a hat for who we are to CASE and I have the pleasure of Casing the fabulously talented Chris Smith.
This photo shows the inspiration used for my CASE of Chris Smith for our Around the World on Wednesday hop this month.
CASE Chris Smith
I had the pleasure of seeking out the beautiful work of Chris Smith and started to follow her Instagram account (@inkpad1). Messaging Chris to get to know her a little, I established very quickly that she LOVES flowers. Blending and creating boarders was also something that Chris was rather fond of doing and both Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple Green were favourites of hers.
Taking the largest Scalloped Contour Die, I created an elevated panel that I blended with Granny Apple Green to one side. Cutting off the top and left hand edge, I White heat embossed images to sit behind the flowers for subtle interest. A subtle white script on the Layering Vellum panel gave a gentle level of detail to the base card. This helped to soften down the Soft Sea Foam background further.
Fulfilling The love of Flowers
Selecting these flowers from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper, I die cut them, along with a scattering of leaves to use. Thankfully the colours used within the leaves of this DSP coordinated beautifully with my blended background.
A zigzag of the most stunning Soft Sea Foam Ribbon and Elegant Gold Trim, gave some flamboyance to this card. The Gold Heat Embossed sentiment was chosen with Chris in mind, as I plan on sending this card to her. A few Matt Decorative Dots in Parakeet Party to tie in with the greens and my CASE was complete.
A card with a border, a pretty layer with blending using the greens that Chris loves and an abundance of flowers. I hope I have done Chris proud and she likes the CASE I have created with her personality in mind.
Please remember to hop on around the world to see what the others have been creating this month.
Next up in the hop is Annette Ball. Do hop on over to see what she has to share today.
Thank you for hopping by today …. Enjoy the rest of the hop and all of the inspiration throughout.
