Our Son recently attended a Swim Race Camp run by our own Team GB Olympic Swimmer, Adam Peaty. Known for his incredibly fast Breaststroke, Adam coached the children himself. They also had a gym session with his personal trainer and a Psychology session with his personal psychologist. It was one of the most inspiring day, even for me as his Mum.
Adam started the day with a talk about his journey to the Olympics and recent achievements in Tokyo. Two Gold Medals and one Silver. Personal group swim sessions with Adam took place throughout the day and Bertie was in the first session. Such an awe inspiring person that Adam is, Bertie was glued to his every word. The energy and encouragement was so heartwarming.
The children loved Adam but so did the parents. I couldn’t not scrapbook this amazing day and these two photos summed it up entirely.
Anything but a Card
Wanting the page to revolve around water, I pulled in the ombre papers and die cut with a curve to depict water to the left of the page. I used the incredible Artistically Inked background stamp with Pacific Point ink to create a watery backdrop. The rope die from Smooth Sailing Dies were perfect to edge the ombre paper and break up this sea of water.
Our Layering Circles Dies were perfect to create my own Olympic Rings which had to appear here. Adam explained how he loved Black and Gold, the colours of his AP Race Logo and branding.
A mock Gold Medal was achieved using the Give it a Whirl Dies and the sentiment “You’re kind of a Big Deal” from the Whale Done Set. Adams medals sat before him with his Silver medal laying down.
A good 16 years older than our son, who was star struck and could barely talk when he finally meet Adam for a photo. It was indeed an Amazing Day, which of course had to be heat embossed Gold on Black.
Fishes really do come true and this sentiment couldn’t be any more fitting. My encouraging words before every swim session to Bertie are “Go Swim like a fish”. I am in awe of our son’s passion for his sport, his determination, growing strength and his achievements.
This was a magical day for both of us and one that just had to be captured on paper like this. Many have told me to get scrapbooking and I can honestly say … I loved creating this. Wonderful to create anything but a card and pull from all of my stamp sets and dies to create a theme.
Enjoy the rest of the hop and thanks for stopping by.
