Stampin’ Fancy Friday – CASE a Fancy Friday

The Stampin’ Fancy Friday Challenge this month had us CASING another Fancy Friday Team Member.

I love a good CASE and what an honour it is to be able to CASE a fellow Fancy Friday Team Member. All ex or current serving Artisan Design Team members, it’s always a pleasure to CASE anyone of them. The talent amongst these Team Members is off the scale and choosing who and what to CASE was hard to narrow down. This card had jumped out at me a few times in passing, so I made my decision to CASE the fabulous Kayla McCreadie’s card.

What is it to CASE?

To CASE is to Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit. It’s always appreciated to give credit to the originator too.

Kayla’s beautiful card had an almost vintage feel about it. I loved her colour palette, layout and detail included and wondered if I should recreate it using the Tulip Dies.

I chose to stick with a similar colour palette of crumb cake and Pool Party. The flowers were a punchy vibrant Mango Melody, sponged with Real Red Ink and vibrant Granny Apple Green leaves.

To age this card up a little, I sponged Crumb Cake ink to the Hive Embossed layer, which added interest and atmosphere.

Loving the way that Kayla’s sentiment stretched across her card, I chose a large die cut sentiment. The two layers of this were Crumb Cake and Early Espresso to help soften any darkness that Black would bring.

The Gold Bumblebee embellishments are just adorable and helped complete this card, which I later sent to someone very special. My Amazing Mum, who had her Heart Attack and surgery at the back end of last year, has done amazingly well with her recovery. She’s such a strong woman and I knew that she’d love this card. This was the perfect Mother’s Day card for her this year … so thank you Kayla for your amazing inspiration, I loved it and Mum did also.
