This week’s Global Design Project theme is to CASE the Designer – Ann Alexander. This is the beautiful card we have to CASE in whatever way we interpret this.
What is it to CASE?
To CASE is to Copy and Share Everything … or to Copy and Selectively Edit. Inspiration allows us to use the colour scheme, the layout or the products used to create our own version.
The layout of Ann’s beautiful card appealed for my inspirational focus.
Ann’s sentiment sat centrally with leaves heading both up and down. A filled Mason Jar would give enough image both above and below my sentiment. The new Happiness Abounds stamp set provided the beautiful flowers and sentiments. Stamping my flowers one at a time with versamark on watercolour paper, I proceeded to heat emboss white. To avoid messy overlapping, it was necessary to create a mask using a Post it note to protect each preceding stamped flower. The Jar of Flowers Stamp set provided the perfect mason jar that was heat embossed white.
Using a soft palette I added ink to the various flowers and leaves, adding more as needed. Once fully coloured, paper snips were used to fussy cut this image.
Subtle stitching detail from the Stitched with Whimsy die gives subtle detail. A soft square of vellum layering designs offered a contrasting backdrop.
Foam pad Dimensionals help to elevate your focal point.
The weekly Global Design Project challenge helps ignite my creative juices at the start of the week. I’ve enjoyed creating this and I hope you’ll seek inspiration from the rest of the Global Design Project #340.
