This week’s Global Design Project theme is Flowers, so I decided to submit this Flowing Flowers card I had created.
Having been prepping for an upcoming class using this Set, I had everything out on the desk to play with. Changing up the colours I wanted to create with varying shades of colour.
Starting with a Merry Merlot card base and matting layer, I took the same colour ink to sponge around the edges. This helps give a gentle draw to the middle of the card. Stamping the little trio of flowers in White Ink and Heat Embossing white, gave volume to this bouquet of flowers.
The two focal point flowers were creating using the Stamparatus and Blending Brushes. Stamping first with Petal Pink, I then added Blushing Bride with a Brush and re-stamped. Using the Stamparatus helps the image stay in exactly the same spot for all subsequent layers. Darkening things up a little I moved up to Merry Merlot before finishing with Blackberry Bliss.
Taking White ink and a Water Painter, I flicked some ink across the card front before adhering the two flowers. Vellum leaves were punched from the Bough Punch and stamped, fussy cut leaves added with glue dots.
You can just about see the little twig of Rose Gold Metallic Specialty Paper used with the Harvest Dies. The sentiment, which comes from a new Stamp set, was die cut using the same die pack. This new Stamp set has some wonderful sentiments that work beautifully with this die pack. Happiness Abounds (159238) will be available to purchase from 3rd May. A scattering of Elegant Faceted Gems and my card was complete.
I hope you have liked my share today and that you’ll seek inspiration from the rest of the Global Design Project #339.
