This line drawn Every Chapter image by Stampin’ Up! was the perfect image for me. I don’t enjoy reading but I do adore colouring. Where some would read, others will Watercolour and this image offered the perfect combination for me.
Stamped with Black Memento Ink onto Basic White Cardstock, I used two sets of Watercolour Pencils to dry colour. Building up the colour and shading takes time but is well worth the effort.
Once fussy cut, it was down to the card assembly. I wanted the colours of this image to sing. Sponged Crumb Cake was the perfect base for a vintage feel. The script image from Very Versailles set was then randomly stamped all over this card base.
I wanted to mimic the look of an actual book, so selected a Coastal Cabana Book cover and added a Very Vanilla layer. This layer was aged by adding sponging of Crumb Cake to the edges, before rushing up with a scissor blade edge. The text from the Vellum Layering Designs added to the look of my faux book.
Our Bone Folder was used to help add curves to the pages, to simulate an open book, which had stacks of Dimensionals for height.
Sitting across the centre fold of this book was my coloured image. This too I added curves with my Bone Folder and scored between each book, again to allow for individual curving. A top corner curled and the addition of a Linen Thread Bow and my card was complete.
I hope I’ve inspired you today with my colouring and composition of this fabulous Stamp Set. Can you think of the perfect person you’d send this to?
