Welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop, where this month we’re Inspired by our Favourite things.
I wonder what Julie Beltramo has shared using her Favourite Things as inspiration. I’m looking forward to going around the hop to see what everyone has shared.
My Favourite Things
With Hubby’s favourite film from his childhood being Jungle Book, It only felt right to make these projects into Father’s Day projects. I used this Jungle image of some wallpaper for my inspiration. There’s a lot of jungle themed home decor pieces in the stores right now and I couldn’t resist but create something on this theme.
Starting with a Misty Moonlight matting layer and Night of Navy ink, I sponged ink around the edges before randomly stamping leaf images and script. The Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder was great for adding Texture. A flash of contrasting Designer Series paper backed behind a curled back corner for added detail. This was all adhered to a Night of Navy cardbase.
The Artfully Layered Bundle offered the perfect leaf images to both stamp and die cut for these projects. Using tone on tone Just Jade, I sponged the die cut leaves for graduated tone. Copper Foil Cardstock was die cut for that little lift.
A gentle splattering of White Ink covered the background before the die cut leaves where adhered across the card layer. Using our fabulous paper snips, I fussy cut the two wild cats from the In The Wild Designer Series paper and adhered them with Dimensionals as the main focal point.
A white heat embossed sentiment on Basic Black cardstock was positioned just beneath the wild cats. Embellishments can be tricky on masculine projects. I chose to add a simple Linen bow one end and some Crushed Metallic copper Dots.
Coordinating Gift Box
Just Jade Cardstock and Night of Navy used to create a coordinating gift box helped team these projects. Keeping to the same theme, I decorated the top in the same way as the card but toned it down by including just one wild cat.
From a pack of patterned papers that I didn’t entirely like to a gift set that I love. The Artfully Layered Bundle teamed so well with these papers and the Jungle theme.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my share today and that I’ve inspired you on how to use these papers. Next up today is the talented Elizabeth Price, be sure to take a look at what she has to share.
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of the hop.
